Griffin Survivor 4 iPhone case review

Written By anfaku01 on Sunday, June 12, 2011 | 11:21 PM

Griffin's is part of a new series of armored Griffin difficult cases, which also includes the researcher and track cases, all three are compatible with AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4. Survivor-a hard case, it was tested and the United States and British military standards. When Griffin Survivor 4 protects your iPhone from drops, shock, vibration, sand, dust, wind and rain.

Survivor is a bulky case, like most ultra-protective case for the iPhone, it is intended to be cumbersome, in order to ensure maximum protection for fragile iPhone 4. In the case of Survivor is similar to the Otterbox Defender case, which are designed with hard udarostojkogo polycarbonate frame, very thick shock absorbing silicone and built in screen protector. External silicone survivors is much stronger and thicker than the Otterbox Defender, which I believe will protect iPhone 4, better if phone should take the plunge to the ground.

Built in screen protector survivors, anti-glare coating, so there is no water or rainbow effect on the screen, but it makes a little grainy window retina, but nothing unbearable. External screen protector is smooth to the touch and easy to navigate and slide your finger around. Integrated screen protector, however, reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen is larger than the Otterbox defender in our tests. Another problem we ran into with an integrated screen when we tested it with white iPhone 4 with no screen protector installed integrated plastic film covering proximity sensor does not allow it to work properly. Screen remained during calls to the cheek to mute button and speaker on the screen. In fact, even when we were on a call, we reviewed the proximity sensor with a finger, and stayed on the screen. The only way we got around the problem was either cut a hole in the plastic, proximity sensor or delete all one piece of plastic screen protection, which we did and proximity sensor then worked perfectly.

Now the buttons and access point. Since Griffin breadwinner is waterproof, all ports are covered and protected with built-in connectors, flip where you need to access them. Home button, power/sleep button and volume of all the great feedback and very well respond when clicked. Valve Chamber, on the other hand, it's annoying, you should hold it sideways, while photos, or whether it will fold and block the viewfinder. In my opinion, this needs to be modified way off valve open with the camera either with snap-ins or tuck feature.

The belt clip. It seems as though Griffin focused full time on the design of the case and skimped on the belt clip. The clip contains very well in normal situations, but if you're running, cycling, or any other outdoor rugged activities I would have no trust in the music video for the iPhone. We tested the iPhone 4 in Griffin's iPhone when it starts and runs its course and fell to the ground. Of course, the good thing is, in fact, built like a tank, so of course no damage to the phone. In our view a clip to a need for improvement and must reflect the strength of the case, he is trying to achieve.

Griffin breadwinner is a tough case, we have ever had and probably the most long-term and complex case on the market today for the iPhone 4. When your iPhone is in Griffin Survivor you can be sure he is well protected. Design, for the Survivor is awesome and looks like the iPhone, is packed into the armor. Silicone is very hard and granular so it's not catcher Lint, if you want to carry it in your pocket, instead of using the included belt clip.

Here is our result:

Pros:

1) Large/complex cases, protection on the market
2) Provides a better grip on the iPhone
3) harsh military appearance and
4) carry your iPhone 4 with 100% certainty that he will not get corrupted

Cons:

1 Valve Chamber is annoying)
proximity sensor 2) Issues with white iPhone 4 only
3) flimsy belt clip

Griffin Survivor is strongly recommended for those looking for a durable case to protect your iPhone 4. If you have a black iPhone 4 without using the belt clip and doesn't take tons of pictures, I think you'll be completely satisfied with this case. The case gets ++ for protection it offers.
