Overview:

This review covers one of the most popular aviation headset, Sennheiser Sennheiser HMEC-461.

Here's what I like about this product ...

-$ 730, it costs less than its competitors (Bose A20 = $ 1095, Zulu from = $ 800)
-Improved noise-with German quality
-You can connect your phone directly into a headset
-The best guarantees in the industry (10 years)
-Very low clamping

What I don't like about it. ..

-Clamping force is very low

OK, let's look a little deeper now.

Here's what you get:

-Active noise reduction (ANR) headset
-Bag for headsets and related apparatus
Clip for attaching wires to your clothes
-User Guide
2.5 mm-cable connectors for your mobile phone and 3.5 mm slot for playing MP3 player

The most noticeable thing about Sennheiser HMEC-461-light clamping forces. First, when you compare them with other elite aviation headsets you will immediately notice that they feel less stable on the head. Well, they feel very comfortable. The bad thing is they can be too comfortable as they feel like they can fall off.

Material type Sennheiser ear uses is also suitable for short flights, but if your flights tend to be lighter than this, chances are you will find that they are not so comfortable as Bose or with a comparable product.

Here's how headset bodies can inhibit noise in the cockpit ...

1. Passive noise
2. active noise reduction

The sound was first blocked by physical action ear cups.

Active sound reduction noise filters. First ANR system uses microphones to pick up the noise in the cabin. It then electronically represents the sound in different amplitude and frequency. Then it is a mirror image of the original sound is broadcast in ear Cup, thus canceling noise, so you won't hear it.

What real users say about 461 Sennheiser product?

-Only 2 negative comments out of a total of 33, found on the Internet (i.e. positive 94%).

The bottom line, Sennheiser 461 is a beautiful typeface, but you should check it out in flight for this definition. Almost any headset will work on a short flight of one hour or less. When elite headset earns him when your flights are over.

It makes sense to read reviews on the Internet and talk to other drivers, before you move forward. The best thing to do is to try a few producers in terms of your actual flight. Then you have some test data that leaves guesses.

One last thing ... remember-you can not restore hearing, you already lost.

I lost some of my hearing from all of those hours in 235 Cherokee grow in the 1960s flight with my dad. Very few people wore headphones in those days.

We all get busy go for other things and must take action on things that are Nipping at our heals. Hearing loss is so incredibly slowly, you don't even notice it.

I wear a headset aviation ANR religiously now. There are a number of competitors for Sennheiser HMEC-461, including Bose A20 and Zulu. If you try it and don't like it, Exchange it for another until you find what you like. It's just as easy through an online or brick and mortar store.

There is simply no way of knowing which one fits you, until you try several and expect the pilot stores.
